Corporate Portrait of the Best Web Designer Ever

You know him. You love him. You cannot live WITHOUT him!

That's how we feel about finding a good web designer.

Jamey is one of the best web designers we know. He runs Dala Ad Agency and they are able to take your dreams and turn them into a website. Here at James Ramsay Photography, wedding photography takes up most of our time. But when we shoot corporate portraits, we like to have fun. In this case, we did the entire series of photos in Scandia, where Jamey has a really cool house in the country.

First Friday St. Paul

Lauren Sudbrink, a Minneapolis photographer friend, worked with us on
Kristi and Eric's wedding photography in Scandia a while back.

Lauren is a great fine art photographer so we thought she would be a perfect fit
where my photo studio is located.

We built four 4x6' canvases for a series of film loops Lauren did.
We made the canvases translucent for a more
interactive, sculptural, surrealist effect.

I couldn't have made the canvases myself. I owe a huge debt
of gratitude to my neighbor, Travis, who is a professional
Theater set designer and lighting designer at

Below you will find some video from just after we got the projectors
and canvases up.  Most of the video is taken from the back side
so you can see the industrial construction of the canvases.

Aida

Aida did a lovely modeling job for me on South Beach in Miami.
She is originally from Senegal in the Western part of Africa.

That's fashion

Johnny stopped by the studio before he left
for Miami.

Apartment Therapy

I am back from Miami. And the artist's loft that I photographed
for Apartment Therapy got published!

Johnny and Stacie said their favorite part about their studio
is their dog, Ruby! They also have cool furniture and a
great sense of interior design.

I was shocked to learn the photos are highly controversial!

The artists' use of a repurposed deer head was one hot topic.

Believe it or not, the other controversy was my
wide angle lens. I think it's kind of cool.

The pictures on my blog are my edits. The ones on AT were
edited by Johnny and Stacie and uploaded to AT.

Color

I did some work today for a cool blog
called Apartment Therapy.

The featured art studio was Johnny
and Stacie's.

Peach

The Peach Gallery in Saint Paul is focused on art
and community. The curator hired me to do
some advertising photography for them the
other day.

Check them out! They are right across the street
from our studio.

Colleen and Jon - A Wedding at the Cinema

I had a blast documenting Colleen and Jon's wedding at
the Cinema Ballroom in Saint Paul and
the Graves Hotel in Minneapolis.

Rhiannon and Mark Engagement

I was able to make some awesome
pictures of Rhiannon and Mark in
Minneapolis the other day.

We had  a lot of fun with
the engagement photos.
Mark flew in from
California just
for the shoot!

Here is the entire shoot:

Cirque du Soleil

The view from my studio at dawn. The Cirque Du Soleil
is in town and I have a great view of the tents.

St. Paul has a history with the circus. According to a
recent newspaper story, about 8,000 of the original
40,000 St. Paul residents attended the
first Ringling Brothers circus in
St. Paul.
